PRESS: Energy Ministry opposes Rosneft's power tariff cut claims

MOSCOW, Jan 27 (PRIME) -- The Russian Energy Ministry does not support the majority of proposals of oil major Rosneft on reduction of electric power prices for the industry, business daily Kommersant reported on Thursday citing a letter of Deputy Prime Minister Nikolai Shulginov.

According to Shulginov, the electric power price in Russia cannot slow down development of the oil production and refining industries, because it is several times lower than in the countries that import Russian oil products. He also said that the electric power prices do not rise above inflation.

He said that a proposal to differentiate tariffs on capacity depending on loading must be studied carefully. A proposal to introduce tariffs on nuclear power instead of charging the market price was declined.
